As a member of Autism Connections, you join a community who cares about you. We're more than just a resource centre; we're a place where everyone belongs. A place where the autism community comes together. At Autism Connections we foster a sense of community that is supportive, encouraging, and invested in our members' well-being. Our resources and your personal growth are at the heart of our programming.

Take a look at the benefits of becoming a registered Autism Connections MEMBER!

  • For preschoolers, we offer a Parents and Tots program, where children can play with a variety of toys while their parents relax, share ideas and provide mutual support.

  • Children who attend school can enroll in one-on-one after-school Tutoring if they need some additional educational support.  There are also periodic opportunities to join recreational and skill-building group activities such as Gymnastics, Tai Kwon Do, Art Classes or Cooking Classes, or individualized skill development such as Bike Riding Lessons. These classes are available when offered by instructors. Throughout the summer and sometimes during March break, we run a series of week-long Day Camps on site (Camp Marvel), which provide one-on-one camp counsellor support from enthusiastic and well-trained university students.  And if your child would like to learn to play soccer, there is a No Limits Soccer program in which children from age 3 to 12 can participate in a fun, outdoor group activity.

  • Adults can take part in activities at Autism Connections too. We host programs for young adults who would like to learn more about navigating personal relationships, called Healthy Relationship and Sexuality Training. In addition, for our parents, we offer a monthly Parent Support Group.

Every year, Autism Connections holds some exciting events for all ages.  Our Superhero Fun-Run and Walk in June at Odell Park is a fantastic event that draws a huge crowd. This event is notorious for great costumes, some outdoor exercise for the whole family and lunch. In November, we host a Bowl-a-Thon – again with costumes and pizza!! And to wrap up the year, our members get the opportunity for a one-on-one visit with Santa at our Drive-by Santa event in December.

Autism Connections has recently revised its Resource Guide, which is considered to be one of the most comprehensive guides to autism-related programs, information and supports in Canada. The Centre also has a small Library of books available for borrowing and can provide you with access to almost any book about autism you would like to read, through AIDE Canada.

Only members of Autism Connections will be able to sign up for programs. Members in good standing will receive e-mails promoting new programming, events, and activities to keep you up to date with everything going on at Autism Connections. As well, membership allows you to vote at the Annual General Meeting.

Autism Connections is a small but mighty powerhouse providing services and resources to our autism community. We are GROWING and would like you to be part of our growth!!  We need a consistent support base of members who either make use of our services or would like to support our efforts. Your membership allows you to take part in programs at Autism Connections

For $20 a year, you can become a member of Autism Connections.
